Siavash Shahres is a passionate guitarist and experienced music educator with more than 30 years of experience playing, performing, and teaching guitar. His musical journey began in Iran and continued after he arrived in Canada in 1996, where he became involved in the local music community and performed with a variety of bands.
Throughout his musical career, Siavash has had the opportunity to collaborate with acclaimed Iranian singers, including Amir Aram, Atef, and Siavash, as well as numerous highly regarded Iranian musicians. These experiences have shaped his approach to music and given him a strong understanding of performance, collaboration, rhythm, and musical expression.
As his professional journey expanded into business and corporate work around 2000, music and the guitar remained an important and consistent part of his life. He continued playing and practising throughout the years, always maintaining his connection with the instrument and continuing to develop his musicianship.
In recent years, Siavash has placed particular focus on flamenco and Spanish guitar, exploring their distinctive techniques, rhythms, musical traditions, and expressive qualities. This ongoing development has brought a renewed depth and enthusiasm to his playing, which he is excited to share with his students.
Siavash also brings valuable teaching experience from earlier in his career, having worked with students in both Iran and Canada. His approach is clear, patient, and encouraging, with an emphasis on building strong fundamentals while helping each student develop confidence and a genuine enjoyment of playing.
