Kasra is a classical guitarist, composer, and music educator with extensive experience in classical guitar performance, musicianship, and music education. He began his classical guitar studies at a young age and has dedicated many years to developing his technique, repertoire, and musical understanding.
Throughout his musical journey, Kasra has participated in numerous workshops, masterclasses, festivals, and advanced training programs, continually expanding his knowledge and experience. His studies have included working with renowned Canadian classical guitarist Michael Kolk, participating in the Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival directed by Luis Angel Medina, and attending a masterclass with Marc Teicholz. He has also been involved with the Vancouver Classical Guitar Society, performing in ensembles, duos, and as a solo guitarist.
In addition to his work as a guitarist, Kasra is also a singer and composer with a particular interest in film music and musical storytelling. His musical interests span classical music, contemporary composition, and film scoring, allowing him to bring a broad perspective to his work as an educator.
As a teacher, Kasra believes that every student has unique goals, interests, and learning styles. His approach combines the structure and discipline of classical guitar training with a flexible, student-centered methodology. For students interested in classical guitar, he emphasizes proper technique, posture, musicality, repertoire, sight-reading, rhythm, solfège, and music theory. Depending on the student’s goals, he may incorporate structured learning methods such as the RCM curriculum to provide a clear and progressive pathway for development. For students who are still exploring their musical interests, he incorporates chords, melodies, rhythm, popular songs, and a variety of musical styles to help them discover their own direction.
Kasra is passionate about creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students can build strong musical foundations, develop confidence, and maintain a lasting connection with music. His goal is not only to teach students how to play guitar, but also to help them become well-rounded and independent musicians who can enjoy and express themselves through music.
