Cynthal Kishore is a classical guitarist, composer, and songwriter whose work bridges classical
tradition with contemporary musical expression. Originally from New Delhi, India, he began as a
self-taught guitarist and metal enthusiast before relocating to Canada in 2019 to pursue formal
studies in music.
Cynthal holds a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from the University of British
Columbia, where he studied with Alec Pearson, as well as a Diploma in Music from Capilano
University, where he studied with Stephen Boswell. He also holds a Diploma in Sound
Engineering and Music Production from SAE Vancouver. His artistic development has included
masterclasses with internationally acclaimed guitarists including David Russell, Benjamin
Verdery, Artyom Dervoed, Maximo Diego Pujol, Daniel Bolshoy, Ignacio Rodes, Luis Medina,
and Iliana Matos.
As a performer and composer, Cynthal draws from classical, contemporary, indie, rock, and
metal traditions. His work explores the guitar as both a vehicle for technical expression and a
medium for atmosphere, narrative, and emotional drama.
Cynthal has performed at venues including the BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing
Arts and Pyatt Hall, and has received First Prize at the 2023 Kiwanis Festival and Competition,
as well as Second and Third Place in the Capilano Performance Competition in 2021 and 2020.
He currently teaches guitar, bass, and piano at various schools and genres, and serves on the
board committee of the Vancouver Classical Guitar Society
