Ammar’s musical journey took him from a young rock musician in Tehran to studying Classical music at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, and ultimately graduating in Jazz & Contemporary Studies at VCC School of Music in Vancouver, BC. His colourful experience spans recording and performing with Canadian, American, and Iranian artists across genres including rock, metal, jazz, experimental, and electronic music. He has also composed and recorded for film and animation. Ammar finds inspiration in the grace of the Baroque and Romantic classical eras, the freedom of jazz improvisation, and the energetic power of metal.
Ammar Sedghi is a versatile guitarist and music educator trained in Classical, Jazz, and Contemporary styles. With experience performing and recording across genres; from rock and metal to jazz and experimental music, he brings a creative, modern approach to teaching. Ammar helps students build strong musical foundations while encouraging improvisation, rhythm skills, and personal expression.
