Pianist, dancer, choreographer, and educator Linda Hayes has dedicated over three decades to the performing arts. A graduate of the University of Toronto, she holds an Associate Diploma in Piano and Music Theory and has studied extensively in both classical and jazz traditions, including ten years of jazz piano training under Robert Doyle. Her piano instruction spans Classical, Jazz, and Latin styles, guiding students from beginner to advanced levels and preparing them for recitals, festivals, examinations, and auditions. Many of her students have continued their musical studies at the university level.
Linda’s artistic journey also includes professional dance training with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, where she studied multiple genres, with Flamenco becoming her artistic focus. She travels to Spain annually to deepen her training and performance practice, studying with internationally renowned artists including Gala Vivancos, Rocio Molina, Marco Flores, Ana Morales, Belen Maya, and Eduardo Guerrero. Her choreographic works include Sabor Cubano—commissioned for live presentation—as well as Malamente and Vivaldi en Movimiento, blending Flamenco with diverse artistic influences.
As both an educator and performer, Linda has created and directed choreographies for festivals and performances across Vancouver, including Harbour Dance Centre, The Landing, and ProArte. She believes that studying the arts is a lifelong journey, and that teaching music and dance to young people is truly offering them a gift that will enrich their lives far beyond the studio.
